International Group of Online Security Help
About Us

Who we are:

International Group of Online Security Help (iGosh) is an organization dedicated to reducing and eventually eliminating many of the security risks and vulnerabilities that plague the online industry. With some of the most experienced individuals working around the clock, iGosh continues to discover critical information regarding security risks and how to prevent them.

What we stand for:

The founders of iGosh.org firmly believe that the online world is suffering from major security risks. These risks could be prevented, and our goal is to prove this theory. There are thousands of hackers online, with the sole intent of causing harm to legitimate websites. We believe the time has come to combat these statistics and show the world that the internet could be a safe place to conduct business and other online activities. All it takes is a little bit of effort from some of the iGosh.org professionals, along with some involvement by the online community, and we can eventually set new security standards that can be implemented to achieve the goal of a safer and more secure online environment.

Why and how we started:

One Friday afternoon, Matt (one of the founders of iGosh.org), received a phone call from a colleague. The colleague was unsure whether or not a certain email that he had received was legitimate or fake. After forwarding the email to Matt, it was determined that the email was in fact a phishing attempt. After quite a bit of thought, Matt realized that educating the online industry about some of the security risks that may directly affect their daily life was a task that he could accomplish, with the help of some other internet security professionals. Within minutes after receiving the email from his colleague, Matt decided to form iGosh.org - a team of knowledgeable and experienced individuals dedicated to reducing many of the security risks that plague the online world.

Why we're needed:

Imagine yourself in the following scenario:

You wake up at 8:00am on a Monday morning. After drinking a nice hot cup of coffee, you decide to turn on your computer and check your emails. After reading a few messages from friends and family, you notice an email that arrived at 1:00am. The sender's email looks familiar, but you're unsure who sent it. After opening the email, you realize that the email was sent by one of your largest clients. The message body states a complaint about vulgar material found on your company's website. With mixed emotions of shock, curiosity, and suspicion, you decide to take a quick glance at your website. Within seconds you realize what had happened - Your company website has been defaced. Immediately after logging in to the administration panel, you realize that all of your client information is gone. At this point feelings of confusion, anger, and fear begin to set in. What happened? Who can you turn to? What would they be able to do to help? Why did this happen? Who is to blame? Why would someone want to do something so malicious to you, your company, and your clients? After the realization of what had happened sinks in, you decide to make a few phone calls. The first call is to your hosting provider. The level 1 support representative forwards your call to a member of their management team. After consoling you, the individual on the other end of the line informs you that they may be willing to help, but the chances of recovering your data are slim, if any. After realizing how severe this issue is, feelings of anger begin to take control. You want revenge. You pick up the phone one more time and call the local authorities. Shortly after explaining your situation, the law enforcement agent responds. At this point you notice that the agent responding to your request has extremely limited experience with online crime. Feelings of despair set in as you realize that there's nobody around to help. Another few emails arrive containing complaints from angry clients. You now realize that this gross invasion of privacy may result in a substantial loss of revenue. Some of your clients begin to demand refunds or compensation for lost data. A Google search for companies that can assist with this issue informs you that recovering from this situation will not be cheap. Do you have the budget to recover? How can you be sure that one of these companies charging an arm and a leg for their services will succeed? Is it time to give up and close shop?

STOP!

There's still hope!

International Group of Online Security Help shouldn't be your last resort - but we're happy to help, even if all other options fail!
